The food prices in Russia are sharply rising because of the embargo
Due to limitation of imported foods from the Western countries, food prices are rising sharply in Russia – Anton Sziluanov Russian Finance Minister stated at the Thursday meeting of the international investment forum in Moscow.
The Chairman of the Russian Central Bank at the meeting said that Russia can not meet the 5 percent inflation target.
Moscow, introduced import restrictions against Western countries on 7 August, due to the measures they introduced because of Russia’s policy in Ukraine. Russia banned the imports of beef, pork, fruit and vegetables, salami and the import of poultry, fish, cheese, milk and dairy products from the Member States of the European Union, the United States, Canada, Australia and Norway.
