WWF: Earth’s annual resources will run out on Monday
World Overconsumption Day is July 29 this year: According to the Global Footprint Network, the Earth’s population will use up the planet’s annual resources on Monday.
As the Hungarian organization of the World Conservation Fund (WWF) points out in its announcement sent to MTI on Tuesday, the day of overconsumption is coming every year earlier. Last year, the day fell to 1 August, 2 August in 2017. In 1970, it was only on 23 December when we reached the limit of overconsumption, and since then, we have used the Earth’s resources for a year about 5 months earlier. (MTI)
