VOSZ: the business sentiment of companies worsened somewhat in the second quarter
The situation and mood of businesses, as well as their expectations for the next 12 months, have deteriorated somewhat compared to the first quarter, which is in line with expectations – said Ákos Kozák, co-founder of the Equilibrium Institute, at a background discussion in Budapest on Thursday, where the VOSZ Barometer data were presented.
According to his information, the quarterly business barometer index of the National Association of Enterprises (VOSZ) decreased to 56 points in the second quarter from 61 points in the previous quarter.
In May, VOSZ presented the first SME business barometer index, which is prepared every quarter in cooperation with the Equilibrium Institute. The VOSZ Barometer is prepared by interviewing more than 400 businesses, the index can range from 0 to 100 points.
Ákos Kozák explained: in the second quarter, all three sub-indices of the barometer decreased compared to the previous quarter. The business mood sub-index fell from 62 points to 59 points, the investment willingness sub-index from 49 points to 41 points, while the financial situation fell from 74 points to 70 points.
