VOSZ Barometer: the business mood of SMEs deteriorated somewhat in the second quarter
This year is the year of waiting for SMEs – this can be gleaned from the second quarter analysis of the VOSZ Barometer, whose main indicator decreased by 5 points compared to the first quarter.
The main index of the VOSZ Barometer for the second quarter of this year reached 56 points on a scale of 100 compared to 61 points in the first quarter, as all sub-indices also show lower values. The sub-index of business sentiment fell from 62 to 59, that of investments from 49 to 41, and that of the financial situation from 74 to 70.
This year, the National Association of Entrepreneurs and Employers (VOSZ) introduced the indicator-like economic index indicating the conditions of the entrepreneurial sphere, which is based on a joint survey with the Equilibrium Institute. This year’s second quarter results were announced on July 13. During the survey, company managers shared their opinions on the outlook for the economy, problems affecting business, planned investments, inflation, salary increases, and – as a case-by-case priority topic – energy prices this time.
Experts from the Equilibrium Institute and interest representatives took part in the analyzes and preparation of the Barometer. In addition to VOSZ members, businesses that were not yet VOSZ members were also interviewed.
