VOSZ Barometer Q3: the business mood has not changed significantly, but domestic businesses expect a difficult period
Although there is no significant movement, the cracks are already visible – it was said at the presentation of the third quarter barometer published by the National Association of Entrepreneurs and Employers (VOSZ).
Along with the fact that VOSZ’s member companies belong to strong and prudent companies, macroeconomic changes are already visibly affecting them, such as backlogs of orders, the lack of professional labor and decreasing purchasing power – Ákos Kozák, the researcher who conducted the research, briefly summarized at the VOSZ press conference Director responsible for business relations of the Equilibrium Institute. He added that the relative constancy can be experienced in the business mood, but at the same time the cracks are already visible, and it is not even possible to see how the trend will continue in the 4th quarter. Ákos Kozák reminded that it had already been indicated that the circle is expected to reappear or strengthen.
A significant number of enterprises began to rethink their development goals and their fulfillment. Based on the data of the 3rd quarter, almost every 5th company has already postponed its development investments, mainly because of wage increases, Ákos Kozák pointed out. László Perlusz, the Secretary General of VOSZ, added to this, it can also be observed that the energy-related investments, which are typically financed by their own resources, were not postponed by the enterprises, and the green transition continued.
