VM: the government supports the strengthening of producer organizations

EU's new Common Agricultural Policy and the National Rural Strategy both encourage the strengthening of  producers' cooperations and cooperatives.

The VM (Ministry of Rural Development) increased the national support for the investments of the fruit and vegetable producer groups from the former 5 percent to 25 percent. The source was about 1.3 billion in 2010, in 2011 it was more than 1.6 billion.

About 250 organizations used the possibility of the five-year grant, in which more than 20 thousand producers can be found – the ministry said. (MTI)
