VM: significant increase in the income of agricultural producers
According to the preliminary datas of the Agricultural Economics Research Institute (AKI), the income of individual farms increased by 47 percent last year, compared to the previous year – informed the Ministry of Rural Development (VM) on Thursday.
According to the communication of the ministry, the income of farmers is almost increasing steadily since the EU accession, thast is partially due to the increasing direct subsidies. After the decline of 2009, income growth continued in 2011.
However, the communication points out that 2011 has not been equally favorable to all industries. The winners of the year were field growers, mainly due to the rising grain prices. (MTI)
