GMO-tainted croplands and compensations

The government is about to offer farmers compensation of HUF 360 000 per hectare for GMO-tainted cropland, the Ministry of Rural Development informed MTI.

The ministry pointed out that the government at allocated HUF 4 billion for farmers with GMO-tainted cropland. The farmers will have until September 30 to apply for the damages, which the government will disburse by the middle of December, at the latest.
