VM: 60 percent of the tested foods met the requirements of the Hungarian product regulation
The control of food products using the Hungarian product labeling is underway since September after a grace period of one year – Kardeván Endre, Minister of State of the Ministry of Rural Development (VM) responsible for Food Chain surveillance and agri management told at a press conference on Thursday in Budapest.
He added, that sixty percent of the tested food products are in compliance with the regulations. At the vast majority of checks errors were not found.
The Hungarian product regulation entered into force on 1 September. It regulates, inter alia, the conditions of products that can use “Hungarian product,” the “national processed product” and “domestically produced product” designations. (MTI)
