Hungarians are rather optimistic: more of us see a way out of the crisis than last year
According to a Nielsen survey conducted in May, Hungarians are more optimistic than the international average: while in 48 countries 21 percent of people said their countries will leave the recession behind in 12 months, in Hungary this proportion was 23 percent. In March 2009 only 18 percent of us were thinking the same way. To the question ‘Is your country in recession at the moment?’ 83 percent answered yes this May – last May 96 percent said yes. In Europe Finns are the most optimistic (33 percent) and the French are the most pessimistic (8 percent).
