Decreasing trade – increasing black economy
According to the Central Statistical Office; trade sales in January were less than a year earlier. Due to the decline last year, this reflects a very negative consumer market – includes the communication of the National Trade Association.
Unfortunately, not only the quantity of sold goods (volume) declined, but the revenues of the stores on current price are also lower than in the last year: In 2010, 533 billion HUF in 2009, 540 billion HUF was registered.
In the case of foods household expenditure was the same in January compared to the year earlier datas: 233 billion. But due to the price increases, this means a 4 decrease in quantity (kilograms, liters, pieces).
Half of the VAT rate increase has disappeared, probably fattens the black economy.
