The Tourism Summit, an international conference for the tourism industry, will be held in Budapest between October 14-15, the organizer Visit Hungary told MTI.

According to their information, more than a thousand people have registered for the event, which will be hosted by the Whale Budapest, in just a few weeks. The event, which will feature renowned foreign experts, focuses on the future of tourism. The language of the conference is English, which is subtitled in Hungarian by artificial intelligence.

Csendes Olivér, CEO of Visit Hungary, highlighted in the announcement:

The feedback from the participants shows that we managed to find exciting topics and attract engaging international speakers to Hungary. This has attracted the attention of domestic players in the tourism sector: they are curious about foreign ideas, other nations’ experiences with tourism, and the challenges of the future

– he added.

They wrote: the future of travel is not only about landscapes, but also about data, responsibility, and connected experience spaces. What will tourism be like in a world where algorithms recommend destinations, data drives developments, and sustainability is no longer an option but a prerequisite? The Tourism Summit seeks practical and inspiring answers to these questions.

More than fifty experts from sixteen countries will seek answers to these and similar questions with the involvement of the Hungarian profession.

Among others, prominent speakers accepted Visit Hungary’s invitation, such as NASA AI Director Omar Hatamleh, Nick Hall, founder and CEO of the Digital Tourism Think Tank, or Xavier Font, professor at the University of Surrey and an outstanding expert in sustainable tourism

– the organizers announced.

They mentioned that the international presentation of the calculator that measures the ecological footprint of baths, spas and wellness centers, as well as bathers, promises to be a real novelty – in a way already established in aviation -, thus helping the maintaining institutions in optimized operation and reducing costs. The publication summarizing fifty best Hungarian practices in the field of sustainable tourism may also be of great interest: its creators have collected the best examples, from wineries to accommodation and various tourist attractions.

The detailed program of the Tourism Summit and the list of speakers can be read on the conference website.
