Visit Hungary: Applications for the 32nd Flowering Hungary competition have started
Applications for the 32nd Flowering Hungary competition have started. Visit Hungary, a subsidiary of the Hungarian Tourist Board (MTÜ), is waiting for applications from settlements that would like to compare their achievements in creating well-kept, sustainable and attractive green spaces until May 15, Visit Hungary informed MTI on Wednesday.
This year, the focus of one of the country’s longest-standing and most successful environmental beautification movements is on climate awareness-related attitudes.
This time, the organizers are announcing the competition in five settlement categories, from small villages to large cities and districts of the capital, and for the sixth time, Hungarian-speaking settlements across the border can also participate. Several ministries and numerous professional organizations are also offering valuable prizes to outstanding settlements, they wrote.
Various thematic awards will also be given, according to the information: for example, the main square and avenue of the year will be recognized, and this year, the Thriving Community Award will again be presented, which recognizes local initiatives that serve as examples to follow. This year, nominations can also be made in the category of flowery city and village walks, and the recognition can be earned by settlements where tourists can admire the unique green spaces, parks, and notable avenues of the settlement on guided walks.
