Visa: Hungarians use their bank cards more regularly
Card usage increases in Hungary, compared with cash use. According to the survey of the Visa Europe examining the Balaton region, the number of POS transactions grew by 17 percent in June and July, compared to the previous year.
Visa Europe in its report published on Tuesday presents that Visa POS card spendings totaled more than 2 billion HUF in the first two months of the summer in the region, 19 percent more than in the same period of last year.
The Hungarian cardholders spent the most in grocery stores and in supermarkets, a total of 489 million HUF. Compared to last year, this is a 16 percent increase. (MTI)
