According to the study of Visa Europe; the size of the European shadow economy can be 2,100 billion euros, which is an average 20 percent of the GDP in the European states, while in Hungary it can reach 22 billion euros, 24 percent of the country's GDP.
According to the study, the datas are ranging between the 8 percent of Switzerland and Austria, to the other end where the other Central and Eastern Europe countries stand, where the shadow economy is more than 30 percent of the GDP.
