The Ministry of Agriculture declared Vis Maior due to the drought
The Agriculture Minister proclaimed Vis Maior due to the drought of 2009 for the whole territory of Hungary. Farmers can claim drought alleviation at the Administrative Office of Agriculture – reports MTI.
According to the communication of Ministry of Agriculture, the demands shall be administered until 20. October 2009. The Vis Maior situation, does not constitute a legal basis for the unilateral elimination of the private contracts. According to the spokesman of for the Ministry of Agriculture, 5 billion HUF is available for drought alleviation, but only those will be compensated who were logged in the compensation system, until 15. May 2009.
