VIMOSZ: expectations of tourism companies improved last December
The expectations of tourism companies improved in December – the National Association of Tourist and Hospitality Employers (VIMOSZ) announced to MTI on Monday based on the latest survey conducted with the cooperation of GKI Gazdaságkutató.
The Tourism Business Index (tki) stood at minus 6 points in December, its value increased by 2 points in the last month of the year, thus significantly exceeding its value a year ago by 16 points.
The value of the indicator indicates that the actors of the sector perceive their situation to be slightly deteriorating. The index decreased in the accommodation service, while it increased slightly in the hospitality sector and significantly in the other tourism sector.
The index of accommodation services has been on a downward trend since the spring of 2023, and in December it just dropped to the level of September, while, despite the slight consolidation in December, catering has not been able to show any significant improvement for almost a year, they wrote.
