VIMOSZ: the expectations of tourism companies in September were better than last year
The expectations of tourism companies were better than a year earlier in September, the National Association of Tourist and Hospitality Employers (VIMOSZ) and GKI Gazdaságkutátó told MTI, based on the latest survey.
The Tourism Business Index (tki) stood at minus 3 points in September, which is 4 points higher than a year ago. The indicator decreased by 3 points in September after the increase in August, and indicates that the players of the sector perceive their situation to be slightly worse at the end of the season. The index decreased in all three sub-sectors – catering, accommodation services, other – with the largest decrease (by 7 points) in accommodation services.
Together with the Hungarian Tourism Association and GKI Gazdaságkutató Zrt., VIMOSZ measures the expected development of the business cycle in tourism on a monthly basis and publishes the Tourism Business Cycle Index, thereby providing the market and the public with information on expected trends in the near future.
