Pepsi Bottling Lowers Forecast, To Cut Over 3,000 Jobs
Pepsi Bottling Group, the no.2 global soft-drink distributor, has lowered its full-year forecasts and announced that it will cut 3,150 jobs, mostly in Mexico.
The
company said the job cuts amount to about 4.6% of its total
workforce. Around 2,200 of the jobs to go will be from its Mexican
operations, where it will also close three bottling plants and 30
distribution centers. The company will eliminate another 750 jobs in
the US and Canada, with 200 jobs more to go in Europe. It will also
shut down four facilities in the US.
