A world record was born at the furniture auction of the Ritz Hotel
Thousands of furniture and artworks of the Ritz Hotel in Paris were auctioned for 7.3 million euros (2.1 billion forints), which is a world record for a hotel equipment – the Artcurial Art Auction House announced – origo wrote.

Established by the César Ritz in 1898, a number of prominent personalities have slept over the years in the hotel. Among the furniture that was offered for sale were the furnishings of the salon that once accommodated Marcel Proust, bar stools where Ernest Hemingway and F. Scott Fitzgerald were sitting in the 1920s. (origo)
