The world’s best wine producing areas are in the greatest trouble
This year as little wine was produced in the world as in 1961 – the Paris-based Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV) announced.
The downturn is mainly due to bad weather conditions, and the best wine-producing areas in the world may require years to reach the production levels before.
Global wine production this year has dropped by about 8 percent compared to last year. According to the data of OIV, this year a total of 246.7 million hectoliters of wine is produced by producers. (origo)
