Those living in the country are far less satisfied with tobacco shops
According to a telephone survey conducted by Budapest Business School, 60 percent of Budapest smokers are satisfied with the number and location of tobacco stores, but 55 percent of those living in villages disapprove of both (September-October 2013, 150-person sample).
Buying habits have changed, smokers purchase tobacco products less frequently but in bigger quantity. In tobacco shops the second most popular product is alcoholic drinks (17 percent), followed by soft drinks (10.5 percent) and coffee (9.5 percent). 69 percent of the survey’s participants think that the new tobacco shop system is incapable of keeping young people away from smoking.
