VHT – do not protest, but they want a controlled VAT-reduction
The Livestock and Meat Association and Productcouncil (VHT) does not agree with the protest planned for 30th March in Kossuth tér, Budapest, which is organized by the Association of Hungarian Pigfarmers in order to voice a number of problems.
According to Antal Német, president of VHT, VHT agrees with several ideas linked to the demonstration, but they do not agree with the protest itself, because they believe that problems of the trade do not belong to the streets. The expert supports an open discussion with the rural ministry in order to come up with solutions to help the branch solve the current hardships.
The government has not yet taken a decision on whether to lower VAT rates for some foods, the State Secretariat for Government Communications published on Tuesday.
