MOL Plc. has announced several personnel changes affecting the company’s top management and its circular economy services division. In a stock exchange statement, the company informed shareholders that József Simola will step down from his position as Group Chief Financial Officer (GCFO) and will continue his career within the MOL Group as Managing Director of the Circular Economy Services segment.

The role of Chief Financial Officer will be taken over by Ákos Székely, who joined MOL in October 2013 as subsidiary Chief Financial Officer. He later headed the finance departments of MOL Petrochemicals, MOL Hungary, and INA, and in 2018 he was appointed Group Executive Director for Financial Planning and Reporting, responsible for coordinating controlling, accounting, and taxation.

József Simola has been with MOL since 2003, leading the corporate services area between 2006 and 2011, and serving as Chief Financial Officer since May 2011. As of August 15, he will replace Zsolt Pethő as Managing Director of the Circular Economy Services business unit.

Zsolt Hernádi, Chairman-CEO of MOL, highlighted:

“Zsolt Pethő has undoubtedly been an important member of MOL’s leadership: he has held several senior positions within the Group and played a key role in the development of our newest business unit, Circular Economy Services, into a fully-fledged organization. I would like to thank Zsolt for his nearly 27 years of work and dedication to the Group. With the appointment of József Simola, we will continue to work towards achieving our strategic goals in the circular economy segment, and we believe that under the leadership of Ákos Székely, our finance department will continue to operate at its usual high professional standard.”

The changes thus affect two key areas within MOL: financial management and the leadership of the circular economy business unit operated through MOHU.
