Nestlé Hungária closed with a loss in the first half of this year
In addition to increasing turnover, Nestlé Hungária Kft. closed the first half of this year with a loss of HUF 1.86 billion, after a tax profit of HUF 1.48 billion in the same period last year – the company announced on the website of the Budapest Stock Exchange (BÉT) on Friday.
According to the report, the loss was caused by the high interest costs of the loans taken out to finance the approximately HUF 140 billion capacity-expanding factory development in Büki announced in January.
The half-year sales revenue of the food industry company increased from HUF 103.9 billion to HUF 134.9 billion in one year, within which the net revenue of domestic sales was approximately HUF 106 billion and foreign sales was HUF 28.8 billion in the first half of the year.
Pet food accounted for more than HUF 74.3 billion of sales, the annual growth of the business sector is 40 percent. Traditional Nestlé products achieved a turnover of HUF 54.3 billion, 20 percent more than in the first half of last year. The sales revenue of the Nespresso business was HUF 6.17 billion, which was 11 percent higher than the sales revenue of the same period of the previous year.
