A loss in the second quarter of 2009 at the InterContinental
The British InterContinental Hotels Group reported a net loss of 56 million USD in the second quarter of this year, compared to the net profit of the one year earlier 101 million.
The Windsor-based hotel group however, did not changed its plan to open 400 units worldwide this year. In addition, one billion USD will be spent on the renovation of Holiday Inn hotel and changing of the logos. The results of InterContinental – just like other groups in the sector – were worsened by the recession on tourism, because of the crisis – reports Világgazdaság Online after the article of Bloomberg.
