The spritzer is at risk
The excise duties on products containing grape wine and carbonated unflavoured waters decreased to zero in January, thus the way is opening for the manufacture and sale of bottled spritzers.
However, in today's deregulated environment, there is a risk that the tax changes will lead to quality decrease and abuses, so it may discredit the spritzer which is a Hungaricum.
The parliament reduced the excise duties on products containing grape wine and carbonated unflavoured waters in January to zero. For this product group previously 98.70 HUF per liter excise tax was in effect. The zero rate applies to beverages with an alcoholic strength of up to 8.5 percent and the grapewine share is over 50 percent in it. (agrarszektor.hu)
