Coop Rally: record number of participants
Racers in the 11th Coop Rally drove around Transdanubia between 8 and 10 September, visiting the premises of 8 Hungarian FMCG companies. A record number of 104 cars from 97 companies were there at the starting line. Lajos Csepeli, chairman of CO-OP Hungary Zrt.’s board of directors told that social responsibility has always been part of the retail chain’s business strategy. He added that it is very important for COOP to meat food manufacturers every year within the framework of the Coop Rally, to call consumers’ attention to the values of Hungarian products together.
Minister of Agriculture Sándor Fazekas, the chief patron of the event spoke about the common goal of persuading as many Hungarian consumers as possible to buy high-quality Hungarian groceries – the Coop Rally is an excellent occasion for this. CO-OP Hungary Zrt. CEO Géza Tóth told that both sales and market share increased for COOP in 2015. Szatmári Malom Kft. won the race, Alföldi Tej Kft. finished second and LISSÉ Édességgyár Kft. took home the bronze medal.
