GVH launched a competition law podcast series
The new podcast series of the Economic Competition Office (GVH) strengthens businesses’ knowledge of competition law and consumers’ conscious decisions with the latest topics, easy-to-understand analyzes and professional interesting facts.
The national competition authority has launched a podcast series, which covers each current topic of competition law in short, easy-to-understand conversations. The new series is helpful for both consumers and businesses, as it offers easy-to-understand information on the processes of economic competition from first-hand, experienced experts.
Listeners of the podcast series can learn, among other things, how a competition authority raid takes place, and what strange or funny situations the agency’s specialists have encountered during on-site research. It is also revealed why it was necessary to introduce accelerated sector investigations during the COVID-19 pandemic and how many times the GVH used this tool, which is also unique in Europe. Businesses can learn about the benefits of voluntarily disclosing cartels or how to reduce the potential fine. It is also discussed how the Hungarian national competition authority came to play a leading role in the field of competition law training in the Central and Eastern European region.
The guest of the first broadcast of the series is dr. András Tóth, deputy president of the GVH, president of the Competition Council, who shares his thoughts on the development of domestic competition law over the past decade, the role of the Competition Council, the experiences of judicial reviews, and the interactions between Hungarian and EU competition law.
Those interested in competition law, businesses striving for legality and consumers striving for considered decisions can follow the competition authority’s podcast series on the GVH website, social channels and streaming providers. The broadcasts can be heard at the following contacts:
