Economic Competition Authority inspects the ethical code of food
The ethical code of food was signed by a number of professional organizations and associations in mid-April. The ECA started an inspection because of the suspicion is that there is a contrary in a number of points of the domestic and of the EU competition
The Convention was made by the Ministry of Agriculture. Among the signatories one can find the Hungarian Chamber of Agriculture, as well as the milk, meat, poultry, vegetables, fruit and food industry associations and the National Trade Association as well. Nagy Zoltán president of the Economic Competition Authority promises a decision for autumn but the code can come into force in July, if the disputed points may be removed from it – reports Népszabadság Online.
