The agricultural sector is in competition handicap
According to the study of Agricultural Economics Research Institute (AKI); The Hungarian agricultural enterprises – especially the small and medium ones – can get loans with an extra 5-8 percent extra interest burden, compared to Western competitors.
Thus, the financing anomalies and the significant shrinking of the financial options causes a competition handicap for the agricultural sector, despite 220,000 agricultural enterprises are operating in Hungary, giving 3.9 percent of the GDP. Therefore, the Hungarian Association of Agricultural Sciences (MAE) and the Szaktudás Publisher Ltd. will organize the 1st National Conference of Agricultural Financing, entitled: "How can a farmer get money or financing methods can be converted into cash in agriculture." The event is designed to improve the situation of Hungarian agriculture fundings, increasing the competitiveness and provide practical advice for businesses – reports MTI.
