JYSK’s 103rd Hungarian store opens in Veresegyháza

JYSK has shown stable and balanced growth in Hungary in recent years: in the 2024/25 financial year, the company achieved a turnover of HUF 89 billion with a 16 percent increase in sales, while the number of customers increased by nearly 10 percent and online sales increased by more than 16 percent. Thanks to the extensive store network, JYSK stores are accessible to 99.7 percent of the Hungarian population within an hour, while 85 percent of customers can reach a store within 30 minutes. The opening of the new store in Veresegyháza is an integral part of the expansion strategy, which aims to make JYSK easily accessible in as many regions of Hungary as possible.

Modern store concept, efficient operation

The new JYSK store in Veresegyháza was built according to the company’s 3.0 store concept, which focuses on energy efficiency and a transparent, inspiring shopping space. The store features full LED lighting, motion sensor systems and dimmable lighting solutions to help reduce energy consumption.

The interior design is designed for easy orientation and inspiration: showrooms help you imagine how the furniture will be placed in your home, and the mattress studio offers the opportunity to try out the products, while JYSK’s expert staff help customers with personalized advice.

Community involvement in connection with store openings

For JYSK, store openings are not just about expanding the network: with each new store opening, the company supports a local or regional NGO through the JYSK We Create Home donation program. The aim of the initiative is to make homeliness visible not only through products, but also to provide tangible help to those who need it most.

The winner of the public vote related to the opening of the store in Veresegyháza is Patrónus Ház, which operates an autism home in Gödöllő. The institution is home to 12 young people with high support needs, including autism spectrum disorder and moderate intellectual disability. Young people spend most of their daily lives within the walls of their homes, so a safe, comfortable and homely environment is of utmost importance to them.

Thanks to JYSK’s support, furniture that has worn out over the years can be replaced, helping to renew the young people’s rooms and allow them to spend their daily lives in a more livable, friendly space.

Gifts on the opening day

JYSK is also offering customers promotions and gifts on February 11, the day the Veresegyháza store opens. On the opening day, the first 500 customers – who make purchases worth at least 10,000 forints – will receive a large pillow as a gift, and every customer will be surprised with a practical JYSK shopping bag.
