Mixed results in the market for cherries, apricots and peaches
The national average of the cherry harvest was 22.8 percent lower than last year, amounting to 5.4 tons per hectare.
While only 1.9 tons of cherries were grown per hectare in the county of Baranya, farmers in the county of Komárom-Esztergom achieved an average yield of 15 tons. The production volume of apricots was around 27.4 thousand tons, more than four times the total crop in 2023, and the average yield reached 5.5 tons per hectare. Peach picking was at 82.6 percent at the time of the report, the average yield increased by 46.1 percent compared to the previous year, and was 10.3 tons/hectare.
