Worsening food shortage can force the human race to vegetarian diets
The human race has to face radical changes, due to the escalating food supply problems. Among other things, the 9 billion world population (expected for 2050) has to change its eating habits almost completely to vegetarianism.
According to the study of the world's leading water researchers, the planet's population has to almost entirely switch to a vegetarian diet in the next forty years in order to avoid catastrophic food shortages. People now obtain about 20 percent of their protein needs from animal origin products, but this rate should be reduced to about 5 percent until 2050 to have enough food to the expected 9 billion Earthlings – wrote The Guardian, referring to the report of the experts of the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI).
