The summer swimming season in Budapest is coming to an end
The summer bathing season in Budapest is coming to an end soon: on August 31st, the Római and Pünkösdfürdő beaches, as well as the free beach on the Danube in the 11th district, will be open for the last time – Pénzcentrum draws attention to this following Termál Online.
The two northern beaches will remain open between 9 am and 7 pm until the end of the month, but after that they will only reopen next summer. The recently opened Árasztó-party free beach of the Danube Bath will also close at the end of August, although the water quality has been classified as excellent by the authorities.
Of the pools at Palatinus Strand, the outdoor wave pool, the beach pool, the outdoor thermal pools and the slides will only be open temporarily, while the indoor section will be open all year round.
The biggest change will affect the Gellért Baths: it will be completely closed for three years from October, as a large-scale renovation begins. Regular guests and tourists of the famous spa will therefore have to choose other spas in Budapest for a longer period of time, which will also offer discounts and special programs for guests at the end of the season.
