The end of the recession in Germany
In the second quarter of 2009, Germany came out of the recession with a 0.3 percent GDP growth compared to the first quarter – confirmed by the Federal Statistical Office on Tuesday.
Previously, results had been deteriorated over four quarters in quarterly comparisions. The pace of decline accelerated from a minus 0.6 percent of last year's second quarter to this year's first quarter’s minus 3.5 percent. The current second-quarter growth in the demand side was mainly supported by private consumption and public consumption, with a 0.4 percent and 0.7 percent growth in the first quarter – reports ProfitLine.hu.
