Trademark protection: Even a single protection can bring a 10% growth surplus
There are currently almost 15,000 food brands in force in Hungary, which is 27.63% of all brands. In 2020, 13.7% more trademarks were registered than in the previous year, but the number of new food trademark applications is stagnating with a slight fluctuation over five years. However, with the help of trademark protections, Hungarian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) can also do a lot to protect their values, strengthen their position in the domestic and international market, and gain a profit of up to tens of millions of forints.
