Grüne Woche 21-30 January 2011, Berlin: Berlin’s famous agricultural, food and gardening fair celebrated its 75th birthday in 2010. Fish, meat, spices, dairy products, wine and beer are in the centre of attention, together with the latest organic products. Grüne Woche also deals with forestry and renewable energy resources.
• Fruit Logistica 9-11 February 2011, Berlin: Last time the fruit and vegetable fair – the most important gathering of wholesalers, retailers and importers – hosted 2,300 exhibitors from 71 countries. 54,000 visitors were registered and tried to use the prefect opportunity to establish business relations. Most participants are from the European Union.
• Biofach 16-19 February 2011, Nürnberg: One of the leading fairs of organic products in the world. 2,500 exhibitors from 120 countries will present their products and services to 45,000 visitors. Just like last year, the accompanying event will be Vivaness 2010, a fair for natural cosmetics and wellness products.
• Euroshop 26 February-2 March 2011, Düsseldorf: Euroshop is held every three years in Düsseldorf, and it consists of four parts: EuroConcept focuses on store equipment and fixtures, stores design and lighting; EuroSales deals with visual and POS marketing and sales promotion; EuroCis is about information and security technology and EuroExpo concentrates on stand construction and design
• Gastropan 18-20 March 2011, Marosvásárhely/Targu Mures: Gastropan is a trade fair for the baking industry, the confectionery and the culinary sector, presenting the latest trends in technology, equipment and raw materials. In 2011 Hungary will be the event’s special guest.
• Prowein 27-29 March 2011, Düsseldorf: The world’s most important trade fair for wines and spirits, with stands by 3,400 enterprises from five continents – 35,000 professional visitors are expected. All the important wine growing regions of the world are represented at Prowein, where the latest trends and products are presented.
• Alimentaria 27-30 March 2011, Lisbon: Food, beverages and catering technology products wait for participants in Lisbon at the end of March. About 30,000 visitors and 800 companies are expected; accompanying events will be Horexpo and Tecnoalimentaria.
• Interpack 12-18 May 2011, Düsseldorf: Interpack is considered the world’s most prestigious packaging trade fair, where packaging machinery and materials are presented. It is held every three years and last time there were 150,000 visitors.
• SIAL China 18-20 May 2011, Shanghai: The 12th Asian food, beverage and catering exhibition attracts 30,000 visitors to the Shanghai New International Expo Center. Half of the companies are Chinese and half of them are foreign. This year winery products will be in the limelight. Accompanying event: the 7th Trend and Innovation Contest.
• PLMA 24-25 May 2011, Amsterdam: 2010 was the first year that Hungary was represented at the world’s biggest trade fair for private label products. Last year 15,000 visitors were interested in the latest trends and established business connections at PLMA.
• Riga Food 2011 7-10 September 2011, Riga: A prestigious food, beverage, technology, packaging, catering and hotel trade fair with exhibitors from 30 countries. At the next event about 40,000 visitors will show up. The first day is for the decision makers of the business sphere, but the gates open to the public on the second day.
• Anuga 8-12 October 2011, Cologne: This is the only trade fair that brings together ten pioneering trade fairs under one roof. Its concept is tailored to meet the needs of exhibitors and visitors alike. Anuga covers the complete selection of food products and beverages available worldwide.
• BRAU Beviale 9-11 November 2011, Nürnberg: The representatives of the European beverage sector meet at Brau Beviale. This year the event will be a bit shorter than usual. The focus will be on alcoholic products and their marketing, logistics ad packaging.
