Consumer confidence in the euro area deteriorated more than expected in April
Consumer confidence in the eurozone deteriorated more than analysts expected in April, according to a preliminary flash estimate released by the European Commission on Wednesday.
In the euro area, the consumer confidence index weakened by 11.1 points to minus 22.7 points.
Analysts expected the indicator to deteriorate less, falling to minus 19.6 points after the minus 11.6 points in March.
In the 27 Member States of the European Union, the value of the consumer confidence index fell by 11.6 points, to minus 22 points. (MTI)
