Consumer confidence in the United States deteriorated more than expected in July
According to data posted on the website of the Conference Board non-profit economic research institute on Tuesday, the indicator weakened to 92.6 points (1985 = 100 points) from 98.3 points in June. Analysts expected a less deteriorating indicator of 94.5 points for July.
The current situation sub-index strengthened from 86.7 points in June to 94.2 points, while the expectation sub-index for the next six months fell from 106.1 points to 91.5 points in July. (MTI)
