Retail sales in the euro area grew stronger than expected
Retail sales increased in the euro area, greater than expected in November.
The European Union’s statistical office (Eurostat) announced on Monday that according to the seasonally adjusted data retail sales increased by 1.5 percent in the 19-member eurozone in monthly comparision and by 2.8 percent year-on-year.
Analysts expected a 1.3 percent monthly and a 2.2 percent annual growth, after a 1.1 percent decline occured in October compared with the previous month and annual sales increased by 0.2 percent. (MTI)
