The Day of Transport Culture focuses on the mutual attention of transport participants and sustainable, safe, and civilized transportation. On Sunday, May 11, the Budapest Transport Center will draw attention to the fact that it is everyone’s common interest and responsibility to improve the transport culture in our country with seven different guided city walks, a joint cinema and an installation.

Companies and organizations committed to civilized transportation are promoting the Day of Transport Culture throughout the country for the eleventh time. On Sunday, May 11, the Budapest Transport Center will also join the series of events with several programs in the capital, the aim of which is to encourage people to think together about sustainable and safe transportation and how we can make our everyday trips more environmentally conscious and more pleasant for each other.

BKK, in close cooperation with the Budapest Municipality, and in line with the provisions of the Budapest Mobility Plan adopted by the European Union, is trying to create the conditions for its customers to travel comfortably, choosing the most appropriate means, in a safe and sustainable environment every day. The company’s goal is to reduce noise and air pollution, improve air quality, and make the capital’s congested road sections more livable.

On Sunday, May 11, BKK will be hosting seven different city walks led by BKK experts, a shared cinema and an installation. The walks will be based on topics such as the renewed Grand Boulevard, the Pest Viaduct, or child-friendly urban spaces, but there will also be a bike tour with MOL Bubi. In addition, between 10 am and 6 pm, you can take part in a virtual journey at the BKK Innovator installation on the Vigadó Square line at the Jane Haining quay, where participants can also learn about BKK developments.
