Variations on VAT cut

The government will discuss the issue of reducing VAT on food products on 27 March. It seems tha the Minister for Rural Development, insists to the referral that was jointly written with the National Economy Ministry in which they are urging to reduce VAT in case of all food products.

VAT on basic foodstuffs is 18 percent, on other foods is  27 percent. According to one version, only the VAT on basic foodstuffs would be reduced, but it is also possible that all food VAT will be reduced. This means a 5 or even 12 percent VAT key. (hir24.hu)
