Food prices are expected to increase

On average, about two-fold increase occured in the prices of fruits and vegetables, compared to last year, while dairy and bakery products may become expensive. Dairy products may increase by 4-6 percent and bread by 10 percent by the end of the summer.

Because of the extreme weather conditions, the quality and the quantity of the crop is smaller and poorer than expected, therefore, the prices of fruits and vegetables increased significantly, compared to last year – said Fórián Zoltán, the agricultural and food consultancy business director of request of Agrár Európa Ltd. – reports Magyar Nemzet.
