Mihály Varga: the prospects for the Hungarian economy are good
The prospects for the Hungarian economy are good, the current moderate economic growth is accelerating – said Minister of Finance Mihály Varga at the closing plenary session of the 62nd Economist Wandering Assembly in Nyíregyháza on Friday.
In his lecture on the possibilities of the Hungarian economy entitled “After the storm – during the storm”, the head of the ministry emphasized that during the past four years, we had to experience a series of challenges that no one expected. After the pandemic, war followed, and the war is still going on.
He highlighted: the prospects of the Hungarian economy are good, since 2010 the weakening of the economy’s long-term output is due to external shocks, such as the Covid epidemic or the war. At the same time, the potential GDP has been steadily increasing since 2010, and the growth potential of the Hungarian economy is increasing, he said.
