The sentiment of American consumers are above expectations
Compared to December, the US consumer sentiment weakened, but were above expectations in January – according to the regular monthly survey of the University of Michigan.
The January consumer sentiment index released on Friday decreased to 91.2 points from the 98.3 points of December.
Analysts expected a weaker value of 90.8 points.
In January last year, the indicator stood at 95.7 points, causing a deterioration in consumer sentiment, compared to a year before. (MTI)
