Dávid Németh, a senior analyst at K&H commented on the data: “Annual growth was 2.3% for food and 2.2% for motor fuel. It is really good news that sales of non-food items, which include durable consumer goods, grew at a rate well above the average, at almost 5%”. The expert added that a nearly 3% annual growth can be expected in 2025. In 2026 net real wages will once again be the key factor in terms of retail performance. He predicts that in the competitive sector net real wages will grow by around 5.5%.
