Exemption from customs duties and import duties on products imported to combat the epidemic
According to the decision of the European Commission, published on 3 April, importers imported goods into the European Union from a third country to fight the COVID-19 epidemic do not have to pay customs duties and import taxes – PwC Hungary’s tax experts point out . h2>
The decision also applies to public bodies, such as public institutions and to importers acting on their behalf, as well as to other charitable or philanthropic organizations approved by the competent authorities, and to importers acting on their behalf. Relief agencies involved in disaster relief are also exempted.
