The tobacco shop law may be changed
A change may occur in the tobacco law – the Magyar Hírlap heard it from unnamed government sources. In order to protect young people under age 18, the tobacco shops must move away from hypermarkets over 2,500 square meters, and from the direct viccinity of educational institutions.
Quite a few tobacco shops opened in locations visited by children and young people, such as in larger shops, shopping centers, that are operating cinemas, toy shops or playing houses. This threatens the fundamental purpose of the law, to protect the children and youth against smoking. (magyarhirlap.hu, Kiss Gergely)
