Unemployment rate is unchanged in the OECD member countries
Unemployment remained unchanged in December, with unemployment averaging 5.1 percent in OECD member countries.
According to the OECD website, there were 32 million 563,000 unemployed in the OECD area in December, after the 32 million 905 million of November.
Unemployment in the euro area has fallen to its lowest level since April 2008, to 7.4 percent from the 7.5 percent of November. The rate dropped by 0.3-0.3 percentage points to 6.1 percent in Lithuania and to 3.2 percent in the Netherlands, while it increased by 0.2-0.2 percentage points to 6.7 percent in Latvia and expanded to 6.9 percent in Portugal.
